Slow? Yes.

But good. Today was successful.

The goal was time. Time on the feet. Quality form and cadence. Steady heart rate. Speed will come.

The legs were deeply sore and stiff. My feet--in the slush--were heavy in my soaked socks and shoes. Fingers were numb. Discomfort but not pain.

But I kept on steadily. Head high. Feet under the hips. Relaxed shoulders.

The time was appropriate. I finished fatigued but not dishevelled. Low but not empty.

Months from now I will laugh at this.

Or at least I had better.
